5 handicap. Absolutely fantastic irons. Played about 10 rounds with them. Very forgiving, great sound and feel. Highly recommend!!

These irons are insane! I’ve had 2021titleist t100’s, ping i230’s, Srixon zx7mk2’s TaylorMade p770’s, and Bridgestone j15cb’. The 301cb’s blow the other clubs out of the water when you compare quality/performance to price. They are BUTTER when hit well. I did notice that I lost a bit of distance when not struck absolutely middle of the club face, but the feedback is very nice. No stinging hands or harsh feel, just short yardage. They clean simple design paired with high end performance make these irons a no brainer. I unfortunately had to part ways with mine, but I’ll forever remember them as the best clubs I’ve ever swung. One day, maybe I’ll be able to get another set!

Saying these are a value are an understatement!!! My 301cb set arrived in 5 days from the day I ordered it!!! And that’s after ordering the combo set that showed it was in stock but after I ordered them. It said it was on back order so I reach out to have them send me the cb set instead and I still got my irons in 5 days flat. Ordered Friday got em Wednesday. The pictures don’t do them justice. They are even thinner and sleeker in person!!! I can’t wait to take these boys out on the range and test em out. If you don’t swing blades these clubs definitely aren’t for you. It gives me p7tw vibes, these are hands down the sexiest set of irons I’ve ever purchased!!! I’m glad I chose takomo for my first ever brand new set of clubs I ever bought! Might be purchasing the MB set in the future. You could literally right taylormade on these clubs and nobody would guess taylormade didn’t make them they’re that good!!!!

I love these clubs!! 66 first round, 67 second and love the feel and workability that they give.

I play those irons since 2month, break 80 becomes really simple since I can control my carry distance better. In my opinion Stock yardage and feel is similar to Titleist 620cb.

Have review up about a year ago on a custom 301 CB, DG X100 build. Played them all last year about 20 rounds and the handicap stayed in the 2-3 range. I finally got them on trackman early this season. All stats were good, spin was a tad low, and apex a tad high, but launch and descent angle were dead on. For me, these fly higher hit and stop near ball marks vs the boring flight, take a forward bounce and then spin back. Just a different look, and I do like it. My son just got out of college and broke his pretty old Callaway X-Forged 7 iron, I think I got him the set while he was in high-school. Anyway, seemed time to upgrade so another 301CB build with KBS tours this time. He already has a set of Skyforger 001 wedges in 52, 56, 60. Went X flex with tipping to 6.5 frequency. Had a hard time getting the DG build down to D2 and had to go D3. This build had to tip weight up for D2 with a heavier Tour Velvet +4 mid grip. Think a standard grip would have been close to D2 without adding weight. For this build 6 iron head was the heaviest in the swing weight so adjusted the rest to match. The build turned out nice. He decided to go with the MCC +4 mid grips another 8 grams on the end should drop the swing weigh to D0-D1 range. My 7 iron came in at 475 grams and his is at 455 grams with the Tour Velvet +4 mids. He decide to leave the wedges alone for now so we’ll see how the KBS wedge shafts matches up to the KBS tours . Have a feeling we'll be replacing at least the 52 at some point this season. Now time to get the finished set over for first annual loft and lie check.

The feel I get from the clubs is a little clumpy, but feel decent. Upgraded to more expensive shaft & find the ball flight balloons a little, hard to keep down & a little hard to shape. The lampkins grips aren’t too great either. Wish I went for the MB’s & the cheaper shaft. I feel like the CB’s are for a mid handicapper not a low handicapper. Thank you

I ordered the Takomo 301CB irons on September 14th, and the set arrived on October 23rd — just under six weeks of delivery time (the estimated delivery was 6–8 weeks).
Specs: +1° upright lie, KBS Tour X-Stiff shafts, Lamkin midsize grips, standard length.

The first impression was very positive – the finish is high quality, and the clubs felt great in hand right away. My first Trackman session confirmed it: clean contact, a controlled flight, and spot-on distances.
The iron shots were consistent and logically gapped, with tour-level spin and trajectory.

The clubs provide nice feedback without being punishing. The flight was a small, controlled draw, and the feel at impact is "soft-iron smooth" yet very stable – exactly what I was hoping for from a cavity-back design.

Based on both the data and overall feel, I can confidently say this was a very successful purchase.
The Takomo 301CBs strike the perfect balance between precision, controlled flight, and playability.

I purchase the 301 CB heads to build up along with the 52, 56, and 60 degree skyforger wedges. They are all shafted with DG X100 120g shafts standard stepped with the 60 2 soft stepped. All lofts were dead on from factory. I had local shop bent them 1 degree upright from spec. Pro adjusting lie said a couple were half degree off from spec. Not sure which ones or which direction. Head weight gapping was just ok, I would have liked to be a bit tighter. Site has a nice 6g change between. Mine were 8. 18, 5. 5, 8. 1,8. 7, 2. 6 and 7 from 4 to PW. Adjust swing weigh to the relative heaviest being the 5i. With standard 50g grips these were in the D6-ish range. I play a mid tour-velvet +4 with one wrap and these weigh in at 68g. This got the swing weights smoothed with tip weight adjustments and the clubs now all are D3 4-9 and D4 PW. The set feels really good in the hands. Irons launch a bit higher than I expected with the DG X100 shafts but nothing alarming, and has really nice ball flight. Leaves room to flight lower I guess. You feel where on the face you miss and when you center it, it just feels as good as any player iron out there. Initially I felt they were a tad toe heavy but I no longer notice this. Top line is a tad wider than expected but they look nice at address. I have a lot of practice and a few rounds in with these and am impressed with distance control. These are staying pretty dead on to my yardages even when I don't make the best swing or hit the sweet spot. I am now enjoying the higher flight and they seem to hit and stop on the greens. The seems to land soft and stay where they land. I really like the good spin without eating up the ball with groove marks.

The wedges with KBS shafts were received and verified to website spec. I re-shafted with DG X100s shaft and with 50g grips the swing weighted out at D9, D8, and D9 for the 52, 56, 60 respectfully. With the heavier grips mentioned above and tip weight adjustment and a little lead tape fine tuning they are D4 for 52 and D5 for 56 and 60 now. 60 is 2 soft stepped and spins well. I have a lot of practice and a few rounds in with them. From 135 in I feel confident on distance control and hit and stop power of the club. I hit some approaches recently that were much better than I am used to hitting and actually surprised me a bit because they hit and just stopped.

I am truly enjoying playing with these clubs. Probably going to build my son up a set as well. Total in for about just north of $1300 for a complete custom set, 4-PW, 52, 56, 60. I noticed they have a custom build option now on the irons which is awesome which will shave $200+ off my build price. I am usually between a 3 and 4 handicap to give reference and just really enjoy playing my new clubs.

I've always been a decent player, but these irons took my game to a whole new level. They not only look better than big name brands, they also perform exceptionally well. Despite their slim design, their forgiveness is remarkable. They garnered many compliments from my friends. They're a wonderful upgrade on forged player irons and are undoubtedly the most attractive on the market. Plus, they're half the price of big brands. Well done, Takomo.

Have had the same Titleist AP1 dual cavity irons for years and wasn't sure if I was a good enough ball striker for the 301s. I wanted to force myself into them, but I don't need to. They're more forgiving than my AP1s and have way more workability. I love the soft forged feel and I've uploaded a picture after hitting a bucket and playing a practice course near home. 149 yards with a 15-20 mph drawing/into the wind. 8 iron used. 2 of my 3 landed... well, you can see. If you're worried about ball striking as I was, but you know you're a decent player, get them! Dollar bill divots and puring them right out of the box.

Love these new irons and they are stunning! I was looking for a set of more workable irons to replace my "game improvement irons" as I found them to be too inconsistent as I became a better player. I spent endless hrs researching and hitting every iron I could get my hands on and decided to take a shot on Takomo as I wanted to build them myself. The price made it a no brainer for me!

I was struggling with distance control and gapping as my old zx5 were really hot off the face and the super hot shot that shows up can ruin a round for me. Not to mention the double cross that takes an immediate left off the face. These are so easy to manipulate and flight through different windows.

I have yet to put these in play on course but I got them built to my specs and have gotten a few range and sim sessions in with them and I can say they are forgiving enough for a 8hcp like myself and trending down but provide the feel and control that I was after as I work to drop my hcp even further. Cannot wait to hit the course with these!

I got my 301 cb irons a week ago and I love them. As a low handicap I love the distance control on them and they offer plenty of spin. They came within a week. Overall super happy.

Hi, I play golf for almost 30 years now and have always been a great friend of Mizuno irons. As I tried the 301 CBs they felt even better than described at different review sites. They feel definitely softer than the mizunos I played before. On mygolfspy they are only rated at 3rd place player irons, due to lag of length and not "soft" enough. therefore I tried the JPX923 Tour of Mizuno and compared to the 301 CBs - I think the Takomos feel way better, also the KBS Tour Stiff worked better for me than Nippon Pro Modus 3 (120g stiff)

I can absolutely recommend the CB 301s Full set. I am only a few yards shorter than with my 225s and they are all dead straight. I have also ordered the Skyforger Wedges 52 & 56 and tested same day Mizuno T24s and the Skyforger Wedges. Sold the T24s same day, because they just worked better for me - I like the rounded shape, the finish and the feel - pretty close to Miura Wedges, which I played one season ago.

in the end I even made a little profit due to selling the Mizuno 225s & T24s. Maybe will buy some Pro V1s from the money :)
