I was struggling with left misses, mostly pulls and hooks, with my previous irons. After a fitting session, it was clear I needed a set with no offset, so I decided to go with the Takomo MB irons.
To be honest, I was kind of anxious about it because I couldn't test them anywhere or even see them in person before buying.
But after reading all the positive reviews, I took the plunge and placed my order. I even upgraded the shafts, which made the wait feel even longer—talk about nerve-wracking! LOL.
The shaft options being limited to KBS might be a downside for some, but personally, I wanted the KBS C-TAPER LITE, so it wasn't an issue for me.
When they finally arrived, I was relieved. The heads were smaller than I expected, but they looked clean and sleek with zero offset. It felt like I made the right choice right out of the box.
The next day, I took them straight to the course for a real test, and wow—what a difference! My left misses were almost completely gone, and the feel of these irons is just incredible. On a 189-yard uphill par 3, I hit a slight baby draw with my 6-iron, and it landed so close it was nearly a gimme for birdie!
Even though these are MB irons, they're not as unforgiving as some other MB sets out there. They have just enough forgiveness without feeling like beginner clubs, and the sole isn't overly wide—perfect for my game. Plus, they look even better in person. I can't recommend them enough!
