Product description

The IGNIS D2 Driver makes real strikes more playable, more often.

Perfect center contact is nice. Rare, but nice. The IGNIS D2 Driver is designed to keep the slightly high, heely or toey strikes in play — exactly what most real golfers need from a driver. The D2 delivers consistent, repeatable results even when your contact isn’t perfect.

The IGNIS D2 features a simplified single-weight-port design. This saves mass and redistributes weight toward the toe, heel and rear of the club head increasing MOI for greater forgiveness and making the club easier to launch. The variable-thickness face has also undergone a re-design. It is now optimized for even greater consistency and forgiveness. All of this technology is packed into a titanium body beneath a lightweight carbon fiber crown.

There are both 9° and 10.5° loft options available. An adjustable adapter sleeve and interchangeable weight allow you to fine-tune the club and get it optimized for your swing and driving performance.

  • Type: Driver
  • Characteristics: Forgiveness and easy distance. The 101 of drivers.

The Ignis D2 sounds and feels even better than the D1. My first range session had the ball within 35 yards of the center of the fairway 75% of the time. For my game, I can't ask for more than that! Thank you for a great product. I will be back to Takomo for more clubs because they have met and exceeded my expectations!

Been a TakomBro for years now. Bought the Ignis D1 and had no issues, got the message about a replacement. FINALLY got it a couple weeks back and my god does the new one CRUNCH the ball!! Good work. Takomo to the moon!!

I’ve been playing Taylormade driver and irons since 2004. Last yr i was paired with someone to complete a foursome and he was playing with the IGNIS D2. I asked if i could try it. After hitting it. I felt so small and stupid for spending all those cash on a great advertisement. I hit the IGNIS D2 as farther and more accurate than the TM driver (QI4D) i have. if not better. I love the sound when i hit it in the middle of the face, and when i miss it, i dont lose a lot of distance. The simple but sharp design of the IGNIS D2 is beautiful and even the adapter is easy to figure out. In short, this is it for me… 👍❤️

I am loving my D2!! I was already enjoying my D1 and when I got the email about the updated version being sent my way, I thought I don’t need it but I’ll take it. Turns out I did need the D2! It is everything the D1 was but just seems a little more cleaned up and feels noticeably better in my hands. Again, the D1 was great, but with the reduce weights on the club head, the D2 just feels faster and more punchy. Feels like I am getting more pop off the face, and just have more control with the reduced weight. Got it dialed to my setting of -1U and on my 2nd round with the D2 in the bag I shot a personal best 81 and just always felt as if I could rip driver and I knew what I was going to get. I was very happy with the D1, but I guess Takomo knew something I didn’t .

I've played 2-3 rounds so far with the new driver head. My experience so far has been, that it seems slightly more forgiving from off center hits. I have more control over my fade or flight shape. The removal of the heel and toe weights was a welcome addition. Overall very pleased with the updated design and performance. May I also mention it sounds much better on a perfectly center hit shot.

Takomo Ignis D2 Driver: 1-Month Review
After gaming the D2 for about a month, Takomo clearly listened to feedback on the original model.
Sound & Feel
This is where the D2 completely outclasses the D1. The feel off the face is significantly better—much more solid and compressed rather than harsh or hollow. Acoustics are a huge upgrade as well; it loses that loud, clackier echo of the previous generation in favor of a much tighter, more pleasing tone at impact.
Performance & Playability
On the course, forgiveness is the standout feature. Off-center hits hold line remarkably well, but unlike a lot of forgiving drivers, it doesn't spin out of control. Spin stays noticeably tame, giving you high-MOI stability without sacrificing rollouts or ballooning into the wind.
Address & Looks
At address, the framing behind the ball is spot-on. Clean crown, great proportions, and sits nicely square. It just looks like a hitter's driver, which goes a long way for confidence when you're standing over a tight fairway.
The Verdict
If you’re looking at direct-to-consumer options, the Ignis D2 is a legit contender. It fixes the biggest quirks of the D1 while keeping the price point realistic. Solid build, great looks, and real-world performance that easily holds its own.

Thank you for your detailed review! Appreciated!

Ever since I got it I’ve been hitting my drives a lot straighter! Now my buddies are commenting on my long game, asking how I’ve been hitting my drives so straight!

I love this driver, very high quality golf club. I have a Taylor Made driver also, was going back and forth between the Ignis2 and Taylor, Made my decision......going Takomo in the bag. I feel the Takomo is just as high quality for half the price....literally less than half. Awesome distance, control, and feel. More center face hits and shot control. LOVE THIS DRIVER!!

I work at a national golf retailer (not PGA Superstars) and a certified fitter with a full bag of Tacomo from 101T irons, three wedges, seven wood that I’m waiting on still and second Tacomo driver. My initial evaluation of the new driver is a rather significant loss in yardage of 20 yards. I’m playing the Ventus 6S blue 10.5 degree. Club speed of 100 to 104. The loss of additional weight adjustments was unexpected and I believe impactful to my results.

I remain a loyal proponent of Tacomo, however, unexpectedly disappointed in the second generation driver.

The Ignis 2 has great distance and looks great! My only negative is very little feedback.

I have been playing the PXG 0311xf driver I compared the two and the IGNIS hits farther and straighter off the tee. I’m 64 years old and I hit the IGNIS on average of 275- 285 ofc the tee. I also play the 201 irons and love them they have N awesome feel and I’m able to work them easier

The D1 driver was very adjustable with 3 sole weights. The new D2 driver is more of a high MOI “Max” driver. Here is my observations from hitting the driver on the range with my launch monitor and playing a few rounds with it:

- The D2 head weighs 184grams without any weights installed. The D1 head weighs 175grams.
- The D2 head feels better and is more forgiving. With the D1 head I struggled to get a 1.4x smash factor. The D2 I get high 1.4x and occasionally 1.5x smash factors.
- The heads look very similar but for some reason I have a slower club head speed with the D2 driver. I don’t know if the aerodynamics were changed or not.

Overall the D2 is a more forgiving and playable driver. Even though I give up a few yards of distance on my best hits.

Love the new driver. My swing is way more consistent than with the D1. Will be buying a spare asap

LOVE this driver! I was unable to get the IGNIS D1 to go straight and feel right. This driver is the opposite. Feels amazing with great feedback on a solid hit from the screws. My fairway hits have almost doubled! play this weekend and hit 11/14 fairways off the tee. I couldn't be happier with a club. Thanks Takomo!

Experience to date is less “pop” than the original. Compared to my big Bertha driver I seem to be losing about 30 yards from my driver.

Thanks for the feedback. The product design of this driver focused on higher MOI and more forgiveness on off-center hits.

So far I don't like it as much as the original. I never mess with shifting the weights, but that's not even an option now with the new head.

T
Tom S.

Great driver easy to control

It seems that it's a little lighter and I think the swing speed is a little faster but haven't tested that yet.

A great improvement from the D1! I like the design, minimal with an accent orange and not as loud as the previous one. Performance: at par with the leading brands!

This is hard for me. I’m a big fan of Takoma products and the brand. I have the 301 combo and wedges. I probably should have went with 201. Lost distance with the set. But they still feel amazing. In all fairness I’ve only played 4 full rounds with one range session with the driver. With that being said, I’m not completely sold. I was hoping for better results. For me there it’s more spin with less distance. It is a bit more forgiving. It’s virtually the same driver. Honestly it feels like they just reduced the counter balance weights without upgrading technology. There was no spec/ information sent so we’re sort of in the dark with performance. I appreciate Takomo standing by the product and customers sending this replacement. No big brand would have done that. Thank you! Lastly, I was tempted to purchase the d2 wood but having second thoughts based on this.

It’s been one of the greatest investments I’ve ever made in a driver

I was hesitant to use the IGNIS D2 because I loved my experience with INGNIS D1. The D2 feel more solid at impact with perfect flight and sound. The D2 hits are much more straight. Hitting 90% of the fairways and the right locations to set up a good angle to the pin.

J
Jeff S.

I'm able to find the fairway more often compared to the D1. I'm not a good golfer but I did have a better time than normal.

C

Better feel. Little more distance.

It’s awesome. I actually hit the ball farther and straighter!
