Love it ! Bought both 56 and 52. Im hitting my 52 so good its my new “go to” club.
These irons are so pure! I am a 9 handicap who has been using the dame cavity backs for 10+ years. I was ready for something more responsive with better feel but was a bit nervous to loose all my forgiveness. These strike a beautiful balance. They have made me focus on a more pure swing, and consistency drops with a poor strike, but not too much to be unplayable, and the feel with a good strike is brilliant. They incentivize me to become a better golfer without leaving me high and dry in the mean time, which was exactly what I needed. Oh and did I mention they look BEAUTIFUL. Good work Takomo :)
Super forgiving irons. I like the thinner topline. Not quite like blades but still nice. The 101 MarkII has a better feel off the face than the original 101s. My distance is a little better too with the new clubs. I know there are stronger lofts on the higher irons, but I get more distance on all the clubs compared to the originals.
6 and 7 iron broke first use. However customer service has replied and is working on replacing them now.
I ordered my 101MKII Takomo Iron Set (5-9, PW, & GW) on April 3rd and I received them on April 11th. The order processing and shipping were very quick. They were packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. Since getting them I have been to the range several times with them and played one 18 hole round with them. I can't believe how much better my play was. These clubs are amazing! The one thing that made me go "WHAAAA..." was the sound these clubs make on contact with the ball. It is not what you expect (not good or bad, just different). Overall I am very pleased with the irons, they look great and swing even better!! I have already ordered their wedges to fill out my set and dominate with my short game! Last but not least, the price point is very reasonable for the quality of the clubs!!!
I was hitting TaylorMade LCG irons from the 1990’s. I looked around and could not believe the prices. Plus I needed longer shafts and a midsize grip. I looked around and kept hearing Takomo on every search. I put in my measurements and finally pulled the trigger. The price beat Caley with my upgrades. Don’t get me wrong. I’m still a high handicap but I’m enjoying golf again. More pure shots, more accuracy, and more confidence. This all equals more great shots stories with my golf buddies. I ordered them the end of 2024 and they arrived in exactly 30 days. Hit the simulator over the winter and was immediately impressed. These irons are making me question my entire bag set up. I don’t hit hybrids anymore. My first choice is an iron. These irons. My friends were so impressed with my improvement that 2 of them ordered Takomos.
These are worth the hype. Long, forgiving and look fantastic. Loved them so much, I added two Takomo wedges to the bag. Can't go wrong with Takomo!
The Irons are very high quality and a huge upgrade from my game improvement irons that are older than me. They felt very forgiving and my distance increased instantly. I got the stiff shaft and it works perfectly for my swing. They also look great in the bag
I haven't tried them yet as spring is here. Shafts and grips were installed and now just waiting for my local Golf course to open. More update to follow.
Had the 301MB’s for about 18 months now and still love them, pure as pure when you don’t try to over hit them, work them both ways, love the buttery feel when you strike them as they should be struck.
I got 95 obsidian graphite with oversized grips, beautiful quality irons and cannot speak highly enough of them and same for the company.
I play off between 1 and 3 and enjoy my golf, usually play around 25 days a month and the irons are holding up fantastically.
I bought these as a decent golfer on my highschool team and they have not dissapointed. The launch that I get is almost perfect and the spin is almost always able to hold the green. The only thing I could see as a downside is the offset in the lower irons is fairly obvious. But since i switched out my p for a 48 degree I dont notice it in the other irons. Overall great clubs for me as an 8 handicap.
I was able to get out yesterday and play. I really like these clubs very forgiving and they've added some distance for me. I am still getting used to them coming from game improvement irons to these is a little adjustment. Overall great clubs that don't break the bank.
I bought 101U 4-iron, to fill the gap between my 5i ja 4h. I've never been great with long irons, but this thing is very easy to hit and I hit it much straighter than other clubs. Feels like a great club for those days when driver or other long clubs won't co-operate with me.
Great irons for a beginner to intermediate golfer. Bought them for my son who is new to golf. 👍🏻
Iv been playing for a year trying to break 90 . Received my 201s yesterday and went straight to the course today shot an 83 ( no lie right out the box). They felt great had a blast playing with them. Thank you for making great clubs obtainable.
These are Amazing I've been thru all of them and the feel is so responsive I love them so far I've only been to the range w them but the distance and accuracy is exactly what was expressed in the advertisement great clubs and would recommend them to anyone who loves the game!!
Do not buy. The reviews on these clubs are all too good to be true. I just purchased the takomo 101 mkii’s on April 9th. Had them two days and 10 holes before the 5iron broke on a very clean tee shot. I had two people with me that couldn’t believe what they witnessed. The club didn’t touch the ground nor did my swing make a divot. The club head flew off after contact. Very disappointed as I took the time to regrip all of the clubs before one broke just 11holes in. The more I read on this, the more I see other customers with similar issues to mine with club heads snapping clean off. It seems most people put the blame on the shafts being used. If I didn’t live it myself, I wouldn’t believe it but the cleanest of shots caused the head to fly right off.
Damn really sorry to hear this. We completely understand how frustrating that must’ve been, especially on a clean strike. This is definitely not the experience we want for anyone. A replacement club has already been ordered for you, and our team will make sure you’re taken care of.
